ClientSummary
Raibaht (Cid's Lab, Metalworks)Cid's dream of completing a "semi-perpetual motion engine" can only be realized if he obtains a chunk of legendary ordrynite.

The moral of this story is: don't name Cid's new airship the "Mighty Go-Go Robo"!

Anyway, to clear this quest you'll need to obtain a chunk of Ordrynite (Rare/Ex). This "legendary" item is dropped fairly often from Cryptoberry Plaugers (Stalkers also drop it) in the underground fortress of Pso'Xja. Enter Pso'Xja at the (G-9) tower of Beaucedine Glacier, it is an uncapped area of Pso'Xja. You'll find about three or four Crytoberry spawns on the first and second floors.

Once you've obtained the Ordrynite, travel back to Bastok Metalworks and trade it to Raibaht, Cid's assistant. You will then enter a cutscene and be allowed to choose the name for Cid's new Airship. I've included the list of possible names below.

I don't know what would happen if you chose "Nothing", "Nothing", "Nothing"...

Whatever name you choose will appear on the side of Cid's new airship in a cutscene at the beginning of Chains of Promathia's Chapter 5.

Note: Cid mentions that he was pretty intent in calling his new machine C.I.D. but was having a hard time making up his mind. He was obviously pretty unhappy with what I ended up settling on. In fact, even Raibaht gave me a "..." after my decision. Looking back, I realize that if I had named the ship the "Celestal Invincible Delver" it would have indeed been the C.I.D. I'm not sure if this would have changed the reward or the response that I received, but it seems like something that someone should experiment with.

Of course, then, someone would have to sacrifice calling their ship the "Savage Hell Provoker" or the "Final Fantasy XI" or something, and that would be for shame. =P

UPDATE: Upon naming the ship Celestial Invincible Delver Cid gave the same unimpressed response, so there is no extra bonus for naming it C.I.D. ^^ But, if you are truely unhappy with the name of your ship, Raibaht offers to let you change the name if you bring him more Ordrynite.

Reward: 3600 gil and the ability to choose the name of Cid's new machine.
