ClientSummary
Sobane (House on Pikeman’s Way)Sobane has heard some disturbing news from her husband, the head royal chef. She wishes to make a request concerning that tale, but first requires you to bring a “cathedral tapestry” to prove your integrity.
  • Sobane is located @ (D-6) in Southern San d'Oria. She asks that you bring her a Cathedral Tapestry (Rare/Ex).
  • The Cathedral Tapestry is dropped by Orcish Fighters in Yughott Grotto, and is a fairly common drop. Once obtained take your tapestry back to San d'Oria and trade it to Sobane.
  • After the cutscene head to Selbina and speak with the mayor, Abelard @ (G-9). He will not tell you what you want to know, and ends up talking about some old documents that are lost and can’t be found.
  • Next, go to Ordelle's Caverns. You will need to get a chest key and find a treasure chest. Keys can drop from Goblin Shaman, Goblin Smithy, Goblin Pathfinder, Goliath Beetle, Stroper, and Elementals. Upon opening a chest you will obtain some Torn-out pages (Key Item). Note: This key item takes precedence over RSE; if you are an RSE hunter who also has this quest, you're going to get the pages before you get your magical pattern.
  • Take the Torn-out pages back to Abelard in Selbina.
  • After speaking with Abelard, return to Sobane in Southern San d'Oria to complete the quest.
Note: Thieves, beware! I found this chest three times in Ordelles Caverns… and each time I attempted to pick it's lock, it was trapped, it weakened me, and it dissapeared. Seeing that chest weakness can last up to an hour, this was not a plesant experience. After a little research, I discovered that another thief had been weakened during this same quest. I honestly couldn't remember the last time a chest has weakened me, and seeing that I'm a 74 THF, I felt it was highly improbable that I could fail to pick a normal chest (especially in Ordelles) back to back to back. Although being able to pick chesst is a benefit of the Theif job, I would recommend getting an Ordelles Chest Key for this one… just in case.
