Peddlestock's Treasure (Elshimo Lowlands)

He asks you to bring him four Rare/EX Mermaid parts to get a "rare" item.

If you bring him these four parts, he will place a ??? marker location on your Yuhtunga Jungle map.

You must buy some Gysahl Greens and travel (via Chocobo) to the location that Peddlestock marks on your map between a specified time frame (e.g. 20:00-4:00). Have your Chocobo dig in the area until the ??? appears. Then, dismount, and use a pickaxe at the ??? location to uncover a Treasure Chest.

Unfortunately, the Sahagin drop rate on these mermaid parts is extremely low. Especially for the Mermaid Head and the Mermaid Hands. You will have to spend several hours killing hundreds of Sahagin before you'll get some of these parts to drop.

To add insult to injury, the Mermaid Ring is only one of the treasures that you can get. It isn't 100% guaranteed. Other people have gotten a piece of Coral Fragment, a Lapis Luzuli, or some gil.

I personally got 4000 gil, a Purple Chip, a bag of Fruit Seeds, a Gold Beastcoin and a Beastmen's Seal. Defiantely not worth the time I put in to get the parts.

It is probably far easier to farm the gil in order to purchase this ring from the AH (in the same about of time) than it would take to finish this mini-quest and (hopefully) aquire the ring.
