Bloody bolts, I do believe, were actually a profit for me… I plan to go back to those once I can HQ them. You can substitute acid, blind, holy, sleep, or venom bolts. I believe they're all the same level - pick one you will use or that sells well on your server.
Yew lumber you convert directly into wands. These sell to NPC for ~265 but for some reason go for 1K in Jeuno AH. I did about 2 stacks of yew logs >> yew wands I got to about 22.6 doing that.
I highly recommend that you quiver your arrows, it can add 500 gil to the price (for a cost of 60). If you don't have a mule in each nation… get them, haha.
In order to make beetle arrows at 29 (and horn at 42, scorp at 49) you will need support from the carpentry guild. Even then the failure rate is high. I was at 29.5 when I started them and I think I lost 2 stacks before I hit 30. Juhle was kind enough to dump upon me her leftover beetle heads from boneworking, however, so I had plenty of them.
