Mamool Ja Training Grounds: Imperial Agent Rescue
Strategy:
(per Naria & Juhle)
I'm not sure how people originally figured this out, but...
Everyone starts by using
Sneak and
Invisible to avoid unecessasary aggro on the way to the prisoners. Avoid the big open area by running around the ledge and hugging the south wall (from where you start). Head south and east to where there are
six rooms,
three of which have
Dilapidated Gates. Have your party assemble in front of one of the Gates—then have your puller fetch one of the
Mamool Ja Warders (those equipped with staves or axes are better).
Your tank will need to have their back right up against the Gate; your goal here is to align the Mamool Ja so it is directly facing the Dilapidated Gate. Have your melees slap it around lightly (low damage, low delay weapons are best). You need to give the Mamool Ja a bunch of TP without pulling hate or killing it too fast. When the Mamool Ja aquires enough TP, it will start to use one of its Special Abilities. Some of these abilities won't help your situation (e.g. Spinning Kick); however, others abilities like
Firespit and
Staff Toss (or
Axe Throw) are the keys to beating this Assault.
When your tank sees the Mamool Ja preparing to use Firespit or one of the weapon throw abilities, they can
supersticiously move to the side, run out of the way, or try and cause the Mamool Ja to lose target (e.g. by changing a visible weapon/armor slot). Whether all that is true or not, if you're lucky the Mamool Ja's Special Ability will miss your tank and break down the Dilapidated Gate.
Each Dilapidated Gate has around 1,000 to 1,5000 HP, so it will take more than one Firespit to break it down (one Firespit usually deals around 355 damage); Staff Toss and Axe Throw can break the Gate down instantly.
Once the Dilapidated Gate has been destroyed, have your puller run inside and examine the
Pot Hatch. If the Imperial Solider you're trying to rescue is inside, then you've essentially beaten this Assault.
If the Imperial Solider is not held prisoner inside, kill the Mamool Ja you used to break open the gate and start the whole process over again at another Dilapidated Gate.
NOTE: Once a Mamool Ja has thrown his Staff or Axe, they can not do it again. This is the reason you will want to finish off the Mamool Ja you used to open a Gate and fetch another if the NPC prisoner is not located inside the first two rooms you encounter.
There are only
three Mamool Ja with Axes and only
two Mamool Ja wil Staves, so once you've defeated them, you'll have to settle for Firespit. Don't worry too much though—all of the Mamool Ja use Firespit, it just takes longer.
Oh, and you probably want to unequip all of your
Subtle Blow gear for this Assault—you want your enemies to build TP quickly.
