Mugido's journal - Page 1

July 19th, 2005 - Here I am standing in the lines of >>Ghelsba Outpost after the long wait of trying to update on July 19th. The >>Eldieme Necropolis line wasn't so bad. Later that day, SE made an emergency maintenance to the Ghelsba Outpost zone allowing three people to enter the BCNM instead of one. This made the lines go faster than the Eldieme Necropolis lines. When I first got in line, there were 40 people in line in Ghelsba Outpost and 634 on the entire server of Midgardsormr. It felt like I was at the DMV. Imagine the line with 3000 people on the server. When I reached the front exactly two hours later, there were 84 in zone, and 913 on /sea all.

I have a secret… I actually stood in both lines 3 times. I was trying to get a specific look for Mugido. The first time, it was right after I finished updating (after a bit of waiting to log in). I got the 6B Galka (bald Galka with a beard and black hair). Second time, I was much closer to what I wanted, but I got 3A (he had white hair). But because I got 3A, I knew exactly what to do to get the one I wanted. Although, it did cost me six hours of my life because there were 80 people in the Ghelsba Outpost line at this point. So, the third and finally time, I wound up with Mugido as 3B after another two hours (was quick because this was after the emergency maintenance). ^^ It only took me a total of 12 hours.. ;; The two hour discrepancy is from researching the brand-spanking new quest on various forums.

July 20th, 2005 - Here's Mugido telling me how I can speak to him without signaling for him from my >>Signal Pearl. The Rendezvous Points are at (G-10) in >>Ru'Lude Gardens (between MH and AH), and just outside the MH of >>Northern San d'Oria (L-10), >>Port Bastok (J-12), and >>Windurst Waters (K-10).

First, I took Mugido out to Konschtat Highlands with my level 15 Red Mage because I was under the mistaken impression NPCs only get xp if we do. He Provoked seemingly every 30 seconds and parried like a man possessed when he tanked. We only killed easy preys and got 300 xp. When he disappeared after the 15th worm, imagine my surprise. I thought NPCs were time based and he was only out for ten minutes.

This is Mugido after his first XP session at a Rendezvous Point. All he got were new pants and boots.

July 21st to 22nd, 2005 - Next day, I set off to exp with him again. I arrived at camp and used the earring. I engaged the first mob, but Mugido wouldn't engage because I was too far away. So, I ran to the mob and got a hit in. Then...R0...

60%… 20%… Connection lost...

Mugido probably didn't even get any xp and I got a 20 hour wait. In fact, he probably died and may have lost xp. I mean I don't disconnect often, but what bad timing. Couldn't it had happened before I called him...

So, this is Mugido after his real "second" session the next day. New gloves, body piece, and pants.

I can select his job style at this stage.

I chose Attacker.

I decided to have him let me know when his TP is ready and when he's low on hit points. I left low magic point notifier off.
