KoolAid Goes Ballista!

Because the KoolAid clan was one of the sixteen teams (on Midgardsormr) lucky enough to be selected for Ballista Royale I figured that I would document as much of the experience as possible to share with all of you.

Ballista Royale is pretty much a once in a FFXI-lifetime experience that very few people will have the pleasure of experiencing. We in KoolAid feel extremely fortunate in being chosen and hope to do our very best in the upcoming days (and hopefully months) and to make Midgardsormr proud ^^

October 6th, 2005

• Ah, welcome, Juhle!
• I see you are on the Ballista Royale participation list. I will now present you with the item you will need to enter the special Ballista area being used for the event.
• Please review the time inscribed on the bottom of the codex. This is when the check-in period will end and briefing will commence 30 minutes (Earth time) after the check-in period starts.
• The maximum number of members allowed on one team is 6. Entries during matches are not allowed, and entry cancellation during matches is not permitted. Also, players with the same job are not allowed to serve on the same team, and support jobs are prohibited.
• The maximum level allowed is set to 60. The minimum level is not set.
• Matches will be played in the "all or nothing" style, with match length set at 20 minutes (Earth time). Normal item usage is allowed and the maximum number of temporary items carryable is 10.
• Participants will not be able to choose whether or not they can keep Petras they find, and Petras or items will not be found with every /quarry. The maximum number of Petras a player can score at one time is 3, and a match will not be called as a result of a large lead.
• Also, it is possible to use a Petra Shovel, however the usage of a Ballista Band will not be allowed.
• You may review these rules again by showing me your proof of participation.
• Also, the tournament rules can be reconfirmed by speaking with a Herland within the Diorama.
• Finally, if you lose your proof of participation, please speak with me again and I shall reissue you a new one.
• You obtain the copy of the Wyvern Codex.
