You can draw their attention with gestures or use their favorite food, hamsi, to assure them that you are not a danger.\\ Clavauert B Chanoix : Fairy Apkallu are very cautious creatures. To catch one, you must sneak up behind it very quietly. Remember, never approach an apkallu from the front. __Area__:\\ Ilrusi Atoll Staging Point\\ __Objective__:\\ Gather all five Apkallus and bring them to Clavauert B Chanoix. Will pop after you return the first Apkallu to the NPC. Returning additional Apkallus before popping will give you more AP\\ __Strategy__\\ ~~(Per Naria)~~\\ This one was a huge pain, because it was so very difficult to figure out how it worked, exactly.\\ There are penguins around, and they run away from you if you scare them. moving fast scares them, and just existing does too, sometimes.\\ There are some ??? around, and these have some fish - a temporary item. If you get close to a penguin you can use the fish to make it like you, I think.\\ You can also use emotes to make them like you - which is a really awesome idea for an assault - but it's really hard to figure out what emotes you should do and in what order, and the whole thing is very confusing because the feedback you get from the penguins doesn't seem to be consistent.\\ I think waving and smiling are good, maybe.\\ So you want to make nice with a penguin, and then it will follow you. Then you lead it back to the NPC. Good luck! __Update__ After doing this numerous times, I think we've worked out a pretty good method of completing this mission with (more or less) ease: Upon entering the zone, your first objective should be to eliminate all the Pugils you see as they will scare off the Apkallus when you are trying to return them to the NPC. The Pugils are pretty easy to solo for most melee jobs, but you might want to pair up to make it easier/faster. Take note of any ???s you find on the way. Once the Pugils have been eliminated, you're ready to start herding the Apkallus back to the NPC. The process is fairly simple, although it may take a few tries to get the timing down. - First, click on one of the ???s that are scattered throughout the zone. This will give you a fish temporary item. - Second, find an Apkallu and stand around 10 paces in front of it. As the Apkallu approaches you, you should get a message that it is "staring at you". Note that it is important that you do not walk/run beyond this point. - Quickly /bow to the Apkallu (you have about 1 second to do this, so be ready!). You should now get a message that it "seems to have let down its guard a bit." - As soon as you get this message, quickly /welcome the Apkallu and you should see a message that the Apkallu "seems to like you". If you receive any other message, you have to start back with the /bow step. - Once you've received the "seems to like you" message, quickly run up to the Apkallu and click on it - this will give it the temporary fish item (Hamsi) that you were holding. You should now get a message that "You successfully capture the Fairy Apkallu!" (if you didn't get this message and it runs off instead, you'll need to find another ??? on the ground and start all over) - As soon as you get the "capture" message, immediately run behind the Apkallu (staying within 2-3 steps of it) and start your long journey of following it back to the NPC. __Note:__ Make sure to always stay w/in 2-3 steps behind the Apkallu - if you get to close or too far, it will stop and you have about 1 second to get in the proper range before it gets scared and runs off. The Apkallu will also run off if it spots someone in your party or a Pugil.
