Startup Information
You must be on or past Chapter 3.3.2c
Exit Stage Left (Diablos BCNM) to participate in this ENM. Otherwise, Ghebi will not accept the
Florid Stone and give you the key item required to enter the ENM. The route to The Shrouded Maw is the same as when completing the Diablos BCNM.
Upon trading the
Florid Stone to Ghebi, you will recieve the key item: Astral covenant. After entering the ENM, this key item breaks and you will need another
Florid Stone to re-enter (+5 earth days), even if you fail the ENM.
You can obtain a
Florid Stone by killing most mobs in Pso'Xja, I got mine in the first 5 minutes of farming colored chips at the Nue tower entrance (whm/blm).
Strategy
This guide is not meant to be the be all, end all of strategies for
ENM40: Test Your Mite. It’s simply from my own experience. My record (
Mashengo) for this ENM40 is 1-0, so clearly, I'm not that experienced.
The“Ideal” Party Setup:
Tank – Insert PLD, WAR/NIN here.
WHM – Healer.
BLM - Main damage dealer #1.
BLM - Main damage dealer #2.

You can probably insert any other major damage dealer for the blms on this one (rng, smn). When we went, we took WAR/NIN, WHM/SMN, BLM/WHM, BLM/WHM, THF/WAR, THF/NIN. That last thf didn't participate in the battle (he was just there for the 3k exp).
With that said, you don’t really need the “ideal” party setup to win this thing. If you do take a PLD for a tank, make sure you have enough mana for healing (maybe whmx2 or whm and rdm). Fill in the extra slots with whatever melees you want.
To the specifics:
Before the fight:
- Buy food and drinks! Remember, at 40, you only have refresh if you bring a BRD, so have your mages stock up on 1 or 2 yagudo drinks. Otherwise, prep as usual for BCNMs.
- No need for poison pots.
- Buff on entering the ENM, remember, no matter if it's level capped or not, all ENMs clear your buffs on entry.
The fight:
- Treat this like a regular exp fight. Tank goes in first, unless you wanna play with SA/TA.
- The Pasuk has many drain abilities, so if you don't have NIN/NIN, keep your highest regen on your tank and make sure you have enough mp to keep them cured.
- The mite seemed weak to most level 2 magic, doing 150+ dmg with Fire 2, Aero 2, Stone 2.
- If you did bring two blms (rng/smn), have them try and bounce hate back and forth with your damage dealing (a la Promyvion).
- Pasuk does have an AoE slow attack, make sure and erase it off any members that don't want their casting times doubled.
Notes:
- I can't say for sure, but it seemed like the mob's drain effect was stronger in the beginning of the battle than it was at the end, so try and keep a constant rate of damage in the beginning. Don't forget to setup an SC so you can burst it!
