The goal here is basically to kill more imps than the NPCs do.
When an imp dies, it has a chance to drop supplies (they're imaginary supplies, the game just counts them up for you in system messages).
The problem is, if an NPC attacks an imp (and they can attack ones you're fighting) they'll get the supplies. You have to kill the imps before the NPCs even get a shot on them.
Here's what you do:
DON'T TALK TO THE NPC WHEN YOU ENTER!!!
Instead, send 5 people out into the middle of the first open room. The last person (who is your least effective damage dealer) stays near the npc. Once the other 5 are in position, and only then, does the 6th person talk to the NPC.
Talking to the NPC spawns the imps. One will spawn right by the NPC, and the other NPCs will attack it first (thereby claiming it). Your 6th should ignore them and run out to help the rest of you.
Meanwhile the 5 others should pound the tar out of all 3 imps in that big room, as quickly as possible.
Then head down the tunnels to the left, beating the crap out of the imps there. If an NPC comes and starts fighting an imp, you should give up on it and move on fast.
If an imp has hate on you, but an NPC is on it, you might want to run the imp (and the NPC) back toward the start (across places without any unclaimed imps) in order to delay that NPC from reaching another imp once it has finished the one it's on.
If, once all the imps are dead, you have found more supplies than the NPCs, you win, otherwise, you lose. Kinda stupid if you're supposed to be on the same team as the NPCs, isn't it?
I'm not yet sure of the best jobs for this yet, but I'm betting Rngs, Drgs, Sams, and maybe a Rdm or two are your best picks. Yeah… 4x Rng and 2x Rdm is what I'd pick for an easy win; though I strongly suspect any mix is perfectly capable of winning if you follow the plan I've outlined above.
