Strategy:
Hi, this is Naria. I just tried this one and it was fun (somewhat similar to the Steamed Sprouts BCNM); anyway, we went 5-0.

The party setup we had:
75 PLD/WAR
75 WAR/NIN
71 BLM/WHM
71 WHM/BLM (required for Haste, Cure, Erase, Paralyna...)
71 RNG/NIN
70 RDM/WHM

This fight starts with one fat spider named Anansi. He has two AoEs: Slow and Paralyze, both which wipe away Utsusemi. In our case, the PLD and WAR alternated tanking it; the WAR was the main tank.

Shortly after the big spider dies, the Son of Anansi spider will spawn. This is the smallest monster I have seen in the entire game so far. You have just enough time to provoke and engage it when a second spawns, then another, and another… until there are eight of them.

The thing to do is: fight the first one, then have BLM Sleep II the second. RDM sleep the 3rd one. Once there are 4 or 5 of them out BLM Sleepgas them, then the RDM, etc. In fact, RDM and BLM will basically Sleep and Cure from this point out. Similar to the Steamed Sprouts BCNM40, melees pick off the small spiders one at a time. They're actually quite weak, maybe 2K HP each (A 900-HP Slug Shot will take out about 50% of their health).

The BLM can nuke the last two with -ga spells.

My associates suggested an alternate team for this:
PLD, melee, melee, WHM, BLM, BLM

In theory, the melees and PLD kill the Anansi, and then the BLMS sleep the babies and keep them all in once place. Once slept, BLMS can -ga them all to death. It would only take 2 -ga spells, and the melees could easily pick off anything that resists.
